Job Description
Join BAE Systems, Inc. as a full-time Systems Engineer and be an integral part of our dynamic teams supporting the Identify Friend Foe (IFF) and Mission Computers and Sustainment Solutions product lines. You will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions for multiple programs across the US Navy, US Air Force, US Army, and allied services, contributing to the success of our nation's defense and security efforts. To excel in this position, you should be self-motivated, possess excellent planning skills, have strong written and verbal communication abilities, and have hands-on full product lifecycle experience. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in defining specifications for Prime Mission Equipment (PME) and associated test solutions, with expertise in design-for-test and the ability to develop comprehensive, integrated specifications and procedures. This expertise should enable you to create detailed documentation that supports and improves design verification, qualification, and production, ensuring seamless testing and validation of our equipment.
As a key member of our team, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing system and configuration item level requirements modules in DOORS, including activities such as deriving requirements from parent and reference specifications, managing allocations to subsystems, and performing impact and traceability assessments. This will involve collaborating with system and test solution architecture and verification teams to ensure requirements satisfaction and verification, as well as generating and presenting requirements views to leadership and stakeholders for review and approval. Follow through to closure with hands-on integration and qualification in digital and RF electronics labs. The ideal candidate will also contribute to efforts to enhance product line reuse and efficiencies by leveraging standardized DOORS modules and attributes, and innovatively applying modelling and artificial intelligence to accelerate engineering development. Throughout the full life cycle of Systems Engineering V-Model efforts, the candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including other BAE Systems, Inc. employees, contractors, and military service customers, to drive innovation and deliver high-quality results.
