Position Title : Security Manager

Position Location : This position is full time, on-site at our client's facility in the National Capital Region

Daily Responsibilities:

• Provides security program leadership and acting as the primary security point of contact for the program.
• Ensures compliance with federal security standards and CMS policies, including FISMA and the CMS Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS).
• Leads development, maintenance, and governance of security plans and documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, incident response plans, and related artifacts.
• Oversees identity and access management (IAM) processes to ensure appropriate access controls and periodic reviews are performed.
• Coordinates security incident response, investigation, and reporting in accordance with CMS and federal requirements.
• Oversees security operations and risk management, including risk assessments, control implementation, and ongoing monitoring activities.
• Manages and tracks vulnerability scanning and compliance automation outputs; coordinates remediation efforts and reports status to stakeholders.
• Provides regular security status reporting to program and Government stakeholders, including risks, vulnerabilities, compliance posture, and remediation progress.
• Coordinates and oversees security-related activities performed by supporting staff, vendors, and technical teams.

Required Years of Experience (min) :

• At least eight (8) years of experience supporting federal information system security programs, including security program leadership.

Required Degree/Certifications :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent additional years of experience.
• CISSP, Security+, or equivalent certification preferred.

Required Experience & Expertise in the following areas :

• Proven experience managing security compliance for federal programs.
• In-depth knowledge of FISMA, CMS Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS), and related federal security frameworks.
• Demonstrated expertise in performing risk assessments, implementing security controls, and maintaining security plans and documentation.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and compliance automation in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders.
