Senior Thermal Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to help lead thermal design and cooling strategies for high-performance networking products on site in Saratoga, CA . The ideal Senior Thermal Engineer has deep expertise in liquid cooling systems and advanced thermal solutions for complex electronic components.

Responsibilities of the Senior Thermal Engineer:

• Design and implement thermal solutions for ASICs and high-power SoCs.
• Lead liquid cooling system design and analysis (open-loop and closed-loop).
• Perform thermal simulations and validate designs through testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners on packaging and manufacturability.

Qualifications of the Senior Thermal Engineer:

• 5+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis using tools like Icepak, FloTHERM, or SmartCFD.
• 10+ years of experience in advanced packaging, SMT processes, and assembly manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in liquid cooling systems for high-power SoCs (open-loop and closed-loop).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
• Strong skills in CFD and FEA modeling, including meshing and convergence techniques.
• Hands-on experience with thermal airflow testing, mechanical validation, and environmental testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

Compensation for the Senior Thermal Engineer:

• Salary Range : $140,000 - $235,000 annually
