Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Requirements and Architecture

KBR is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Requirements and Architecture to join our team in Sterling, VA. This role focuses on defining and managing system requirements and architecture for mission-critical programs, ensuring seamless integration and compliance throughout the lifecycle. The successful candidate will analyze system functionality, develop use cases, and support technical reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze and define system functionality by creating detailed use cases.
- Decompose requirements, define system interfaces, and determine validation and verification methods in collaboration with the test team.
- Document and maintain the requirements baseline throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide requirements engineering support for test program execution.
- Participate in technical reviews and technical interchange meetings to ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements traceability and compliance.
- Support Agile development processes and contribute to iterative design improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- Active U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance required prior to start; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, including requirements definition and management, functional analysis, or interface control.
- Experience with Agile principles, including Agile systems engineering practices and/or Agile roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Familiarity with DOORS for requirements management.
- Development experience in domains such as Engagement Control, Communication Systems, Modeling and Simulation, or Mission Planning.
- Hands-on experience in Agile development environments and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Zephyr).
