Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Program Analyst to support Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) and 4th Marine Division in New Orleans, LA. This position requires onsite presence to provide enhanced support for Reserve Lessons Learned (LL) activities. The Program Analyst will be responsible for collecting LL from Reserve units, coaching AAR production, and capturing mobilization LL. Reserve components face unique challenges requiring specialized LL support, including geographically dispersed units, part-time training schedules, and mobilization/demobilization cycles.

The Program Analyst will be responsible for collecting LL from Reserve units, coaching AAR production, and capturing mobilization LL. Reserve components face unique challenges requiring specialized LL support, including geographically dispersed units, part-time training schedules, and mobilization/demobilization cycles.
Specific Responsibilities
- Collect and compile Lessons Learned from geographically dispersed Marine Reserve units across the country
- Coach and mentor Reserve units in After Action Report (AAR) production and best practices
- Capture mobilization and demobilization Lessons Learned to improve future activation cycles
- Support Reserve training events, annual training periods, and drill weekends to observe and collect LL
- Coordinate with 4th Marine Division units and MARFORRES staff on LL requirements and processes
- Develop and maintain LL collection tools and templates tailored to Reserve training cycles
- Analyze Reserve-specific trends and challenges to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate virtual and in-person LL working groups with geographically dispersed units
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on Reserve LL for MARFORRES leadership
- Maintain LL databases and tracking systems specific to Reserve operations and training
- Support integration of Reserve LL with active component lessons learned programs
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of relevant military or analytical experience
- Graduate of Marine Corps Command & Staff College or Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education course
- Active Secret clearance required
- Retired or former Marine Corps Senior Enlisted (E-8/E-9) or Officer with Reserve component experience strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of Marine Corps Reserve structure, training cycles, and mobilization processes
- Experience as an Infantryman or in combat arms (MOS) highly desirable
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with Reserve units
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and military planning/reporting systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple geographically dispersed units
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work is performed in a typical office environment at MARFORRES headquarters in New Orleans, LA
- Must be able to work onsite at MARFORRES facilities as mandated by the PWS
- May require extended hours during Reserve training periods, annual training, and mobilization events
- Occasional field visits to Reserve training sites and units may be required
Travel
- Willingness to travel to support Reserve units and training events
- Moderate to frequent travel required to visit Reserve units, support training events, and conduct LL collections across geographically dispersed locations
