JANUS Research Group is looking for a Data Warehouse Architect that will be a leading member of our Data Science Environment team, working to establish and support the data warehouse for Army Futures Command in Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud. We are looking for an experienced data architect to fill a key position on our team in Austin, TX. This position is primarily a remote position that will require onsite meetings weekly or as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Server as the primary Data Warehouse Architect for Army Futures Command in our Azure Gov Cloud Data Science Environment at multiple classification levels.
• Provide guidance and implement the strategic vision for the data architecture for Army Futures Command as the subject matter expert.
• Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines to move, transform, and secure data.
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems into cloud architectures.
• Apply advanced data engineering techniques to ensure efficient performance in the cloud.
• Support data validation, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations in cloud environments.
• Utilize cloud-native tools and best practices for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
• Evaluate and implement emerging cloud data services.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
• 10 years of related work experience in data architecture including a minimum of five (5) years of experience specifically involving Commercial Cloud Service Providers native data architecture solutions.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX weekly
• Experience with developing strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
• Experience working in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.
• Experience translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions.
• Experience with defining, designing, and building dimensional databases.
• Experience developing data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems.
• Experience evaluating reusability of current data for additional analyses
• Experience reviewing object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
• Experience coordinating numerous ongoing data related efforts and forecasting future requirements.
• Experience assesses emerging technologies in the data storage/management space and making recommendations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Cloud Data Services (Azure).
• Experience working in a government cloud environment (Azure Government, AWS GovCloud).
• GitHub/GitLab experience with Git-based deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with cloud security practices, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines in cloud environments.
