Science & Technology Engineer for Next-Generation Military Satellites

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field and 5+ years of experience in the design, operation, or military usage of GPS and/or military communications satellites
• 2+ years of experience actively pursuing and executing DoD science & technology funding and contracting processes using organizations such as SBIR (joint), AFRL, ONR, DARPA, etc.
• 2+ years of experience in DoD budgeting, congressional funding, and acquisition processes
• Experience in the engineering fields of radio frequency (RF) engineering, semiconductor specifications, microprocessors, software development, satellite buses, radiation hardening, and other technical specialties as applied to satellite design, manufacturing, and in-orbit capabilities
• Knowledge of test and qualification procedures required for satellite equipment prior to flight
• Detailed knowledge of the GPS and/or military communications narrowband, wideband, tactical, and strategic waveforms
• Knowledge of high satellite density LEO constellations: theory of operation, control mechanisms, communications waveforms, and security
• Working knowledge of modern and legacy military cryptographic capabilities and their applications to satellite waveforms, orbits, and military users
• Detailed knowledge of the defense of PNT and/or satellite communications networks from electronic warfare engagement by hostile actors
• Knowledge of satellite ground systems and control operations for military satellites and their payloads
• Possession of excellent conflict resolution, problem-solving, research, and analysis skills
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, for senior military and Government civilian management audiences
• Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and techniques as applied to satellite applications
• In-depth knowledge of military communications waveforms, communications, networks, and communications satellites
• In-depth knowledge of Military GPS ground systems and Protected Positioning Service (PPS) signals
• In-depth knowledge of electronic warfare
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret Chinese-language technical literature to English-speaking peers
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 annually. Aurex is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
