Description
Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with spaceflight experience to work on NASA's Human Health & Performance Contract (HHPC) supporting the Human Systems Engineering and Development (HSED) Department. This position will lead flight hardware projects by initiating and participating in project planning / development, monitoring project progress, and managing project budget to ensure milestones are met deliverables are achieved.
This position is located on site at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and has the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.
The Project Manager will represent the contract as a contact point for projects involving the development of flight hardware for various JSC programs and offices. This position is responsible for performing integration across multiple engineering disciplines (systems engineering, project engineering, design and fabrication, and test and integration) on a weekly basis. The PM will also provide presentations of findings and routine reporting to contractor management and to the NASA customer. The successful candidate will review project progress throughout the life cycle and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Clearance are required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline (Math, Science, Project Management) and 12 years of relevant experience
• Project Management experience in the aerospace industry, or similar role
• Experience in managing spaceflight projects of different sizes from start to finish, including technical reviews for life cycle milestones
• Excellent collaboration communication skills with experience in a customer-interfacing role
• Knowledge of configuration management for documentation and hardware / software
• Experience leading negotiations with subcontractors / vendors and completing procurement
• Experience with cost account management and reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
• Prior experience supporting NASA programs
• Experience with Flight Hardware Development processes as outlined in JSC WI-EA-023
• Experience with Human Systems Engineering such as human factors and designing for the product end-user
