Responsibilities
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support our Dayton, Ohio location.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will use your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge defense solutions. This role emphasizes system-level technical leadership, integration oversight, and architectural decision-making while working closely with specialized software, hardware, and test teams to execute detailed implementations. Your responsibilities will include developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, guiding them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you will take system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards. You will collaborate closely with project engineers, external customers, and field-based employees to integrate various technological components into cohesive and effective defense mechanisms. Additionally, you will work alongside our software team to develop and field software for these systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. You will also collaborate with internal hardware design engineers, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure that all components work together harmoniously. Your ability to bridge the gap between software and hardware, and coordinate efforts among different engineering disciplines, will be crucial to the success of our projects.
This role supports Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), aviation, and security mission areas, focusing on systems engineering and model-based approaches to complex C4ISR system development. The Senior Systems Engineer will support system-of-systems design, integration, test, and verification activities across the lifecycle, helping deliver ISR capabilities that meet operational performance objectives within defined cost and schedule constraints.
