Summary Continued: Help ensure the Air Warfare Center's 531st Wing, 53rd Electronic Warfare Group (EWG) mission in support of mission data (MD) rapid reprogramming, operational testing, Combat Air Force (CAF) technical advisor and program management is accomplished. Leads a team of three (3) or more GS-11 thru GS-12 equipment specialists and technicians or military equivalent in support of various electronic warfare (EW) testing and MD development activities.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment; Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements; Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders; Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met; Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement; comprehensive and detailed knowledge of, and skill in applying, a range of principles, concepts, and practices to perform difficult and complex assignments concerning major EW systems and support equipment; knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to system/equipment acquisition, design, and logistic support to provide technical advice to senior leaders and maintenance technicians on assigned systems/equipment; knowledge to review the EW maintenance and operational procedures at unit installations; extensive knowledge of computers to include system management, software engineering, and network administration; technical competence within the logistics management and electronic combat equipment field; current skill and knowledge of the EW systems (i.e., must be proficient with the hardware and software of representative EW systems and all associated test equipment, and have had hands-on experience within the past year).
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Current knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of the EW systems and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments. Skill in providing technical and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and/or senior engineers. Skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team. Skill in analyzing and interpreting software coding, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines. Ability to provide skilled and technically accurate support to senior technical leadership.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as Team Leader with responsibility to the supervisor for assuring that the work of the team is carried out by performing a range of coordinating and supportive duties and responsibilities.
- EW Equipment Tester. Serves as the lead squadron equipment specialist during high level operational EW equipment testing.
- Subject Matter Expert on EW equipment.
- Conducts research and development on EW equipment.
