Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Manage environmental cleanup and storage tank programs to ensure they are in compliance with federal, state, local environmental and public health requirements. Oversee investigations and cleanup of contaminated sites and provide technical support for required environmental permits. Work with state regulators to resolve complex technical and regulatory issues that impact installation operations. Attend meetings and develop budget documents in detail.

Education
In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you will also be required to meet the following Individual Occupational Requirement(s) (IOR).Degree: physical or natural science, or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in any combination of courses in hydrology, the physical sciences, geophysics, chemistry, engineering science, soils, mathematics, aquatic biology, atmospheric science, meteorology, geology, oceanography, or the management or conservation of water resources. The course work must have included at least 6 semester hours in calculus (including both differential and integral calculus), and at least 6 semester hours in physics. Calculus and physics, as described above, are requirements for all grade levels.

- You will manage the development and implementation of the Installation Restoration Program and the Underground Storage Tank Program in accordance with Federal, state and local requirements.
- You will apply technical and scientific knowledge to help manage environmental permits that govern hazardous waste handling and cleanup activities.
- You will oversee of the environmental investigation and clean up of a large number of solid waste management units, underground storage tank sites, petroleum and other lubricant (POL) sites, unexploded ordnance sites, and other contaminated sites.
- You will prepare and execute technical work plans and reports for environmental projects that are suitable for submittal to state regulatory agencies.
- You will provide technical oversight for numerous and diverse environmental investigation and remediation projects to ensure they are performed in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- You will provide technical oversight and expertise in the administration of the Installation Restoration Program and Underground Storage Tank Program.

- There are frequent field visits to industrial work sites, wooded areas, chemicals, biological, physical, and safety hazards is moderate to high. Field work is active, requiring walking, standing and climbing.
- Moderate lifting of equipment is required periodically, as are bending, stooping, and crouching in uncomfortable positions.
- Exposed to hot sun, insects, and prevailing temperature/humidity.
