Job Summary

B&A is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our team on the Depot Maintenance Accounting System (DMAPS) contract with Air Force Material Command (AFMC). The system administrator will work to sustain and enhance DMAPS software, which is based on Oracle databases and custom daemons running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. System administrator may also be called on to assist the prime contract holder in building a future web-based software solution.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the database servers and associate testing clients with the developers.

• Monitoring DMAPS systems and logs.

• Provide routine maintenance, patches, backups, and security scans.

• Work with the Air Force Material Command (AFMC) PMO to ensure operational compliance with information assurance (IA) requirements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline, or 3 or more years of equivalent experience.

• 3 Years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x+.

• CompTIA Security + Certification or similar cybersecurity certification.

• Experience with Oracle Database servers.

• Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTPS servers.

• Utilization of VMware vSphere 8.x.

• Usage of Veeam Backup & Replication software.

• Ability to work autonomously and support development team is critical.

• Proven organizational skills - be willing to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced challenging environment.

• Solid facilitation and presentation skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Exceptional customer service focus.

• Self-motivated, proactive, committed to continuous improvement.

• Strong analytical skills.

Desired Skills

• Experience with cybersecurity or DOD software development/testing.

• Familiar with JIRA, Bitbucket, and code scanning tools such as Checkmarx and SonarQube

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
