About The Role
Peraton Labs is seeking a Project Manager who possesses the ability to work with a small multi-disciplinary engineering team to assist leadership in the planning and execution of projects involving complex systems for a government customer. The successful candidate will utilize their communication skills, attention to detail, education, and experience to drive the success of these innovative projects.
Job Purpose:
This position will support the engineering team in the design, development, testing and production phases of projects undertaken at PERATON Labs, the research and development arm of PERATON corporation.

Details
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role

The successful candidate will utilize their communication skills, attention to detail, education, and experience to drive the success of these innovative projects.
Job Purpose:
This position will support the engineering team in the design, development, testing and production phases of projects undertaken at PERATON Labs, the research and development arm of PERATON corporation.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Develop project plans with input from key stakeholders and ultimately seek formal approval from leadership
- Incorporate quality control early in the project to ensure the produced product meets customer requirements and engineering standards
- Track progress against approved project plan throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Communicate effectively with the engineering team to ascertain progress, understand work being performed and develop plans to mitigate risks
- Develop risk mitigation options when required to maintain cost and schedule, understand likelihood of occurrence and schedule impacts
- Convey to leadership, at reasonable interval, overall progress, risks, plans to mitigate risks, and potential schedule impacts
- Develop a risk registry, with input from engineers that correctly depicts the project landscape and includes impacts to cost and schedule
- Initiate BCPs as required and solicit approval for recommended changes
- Manage resource requirements, communicating gaps and needs to senior leadership to prevent issues with meeting program requirements
- Generate presentation material to easily communicate project level details to leadership and customer as required
Qualifications
Required Education and Work Experience:
- Diversified knowledge of principles and practices of project management
- Degree in business, finance or engineering is required with at least 12 years of experience
- Experience must be with relevant work in a professional setting
- Expertise in the use of MS project to manage cost, schedule and resources
- Expertise in analyzing project material to ascertain likelihood of desired cost and schedule outcomes
- Expertise in developing reporting materials to communicate project status to stakeholders
- Experience tracking and managing various Milestone and/or other Contract Deliverables
- Ability to be onsite five days a week when required
- Experience with the application of quality control methodologies to product production beginning at project inception is a key skill
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Skills/Attributes:
- PMP certification
- Direct experience working closely with engineers to deliver complex electro-optical systems
- Experience with logistics for DoD/DoW systems
- Experience with EVMS or other formal project management approach
