Torch Technologies is seeking a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer
to join our team! In this role, you will support the future development of the Missile Defense System (MDS) by shaping advanced concepts and conducting complex modeling, simulation, and analysis (M&S) efforts in response to evolving Warfighter needs.

As a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assess MDS threats, capability gaps, challenges, Warfighter needs, and future opportunities to develop architecture-level mitigations and capability evolutions.
  • Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts, including analysis performed on DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
  • Develop analysis plans, execute M&S tasks, evaluate and interpret results, and produce high-quality analysis briefs and reports.
  • Facilitate the definition and implementation of future MDS concepts for modeling, simulation, and analytical assessment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on future concepts, architecture assessments, and preliminary results prior to delivery to the customer.


Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Master's Degree in a STEM field, 8+ years of related experience OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field, 10+ years of related experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Deep understanding of the current MDS architecture and future MDS concepts.
  • Strong experience in modeling, assessing, and evaluating future missile defense architectures.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience defining and applying advanced concepts and algorithms for MDS architecture M&S.
  • Experience conducting M&S and analysis involving both directed energy and kinetic energy weapon concepts.
  • Experience with HPC systems, Python, and Git.
  • Familiarity with BMD Benchmark.
  • Experience supporting systems-engineering architecture design activities.
  • Ability to perform technology assessments and provide insights into the utility of emerging technologies.
  • Specialized MDS analysis background in areas such as threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures.
  • Demonstrated ability to coauthor detailed reports and contribute significantly to MDS studies and congressional response products.
  • Experience advising and collaborating with DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, and industry partners.
