Solarwinds Consultant

Apex Systems is currently hiring for a SolarWinds Engineering Consultant with a DoD client

## Project Details / Mission Supported:

• Lead modernization and expansion of the SolarWinds Orion Platform
• Conduct environment discovery and right-size infrastructure resources
• Mature alerting standards and improve overall observability across systems
• Strengthen module coverage across NPM, SAM, NTA, VMAN, IPAM, and related components
• Implement and optimize API integrations, including SWIS/SWQL and REST-based workflows
• Ensure alignment between SolarWinds and ServiceNow ITSM/CMDB, including workflow integrations

## Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

• 5+ years of experience designing, scaling, and optimizing SolarWinds Orion Platform environments
• Strong expertise with core SolarWinds modules such as NPM, SAM, NTA, VMAN, and IPAM
• Experience developing and implementing IIS monitoring solutions within SolarWinds SAM
• Proficiency with SWIS, SWQL, REST/JSON, and scripting using the Orion SDK (PowerShell/Python)
• Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, retention strategy design, and data hygiene best practices
• Experience integrating SolarWinds with ServiceNow ITSM and CMDB
• Strong understanding of network protocols, server architectures, virtualization, and application dependencies
• SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) strongly preferred *(preferred but not required)*
• Experience with Application Dependency Mapping, service topology configuration, or hybrid/cloud monitoring (AWS, Azure, VMware) *(preferred)*
