We have an exciting opportunity for an Integrated Hardware Design Supervisor within the ASI Division located in Poway, CA.
This position will support routed cable harness design, manufacturing support, cable integration, and work among peers in a team environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and direct the work of the EE Integrated Hardware Design Engineers and Designers and oversee their output for throughput and quality
- Plan and schedule work assignments for the team. Monitor project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools and related engineering systems
- Provide leadership and act as an advisor for determining engineering objectives, guide project planning, oversee design reviews, technical assessments, and design control documentation
- Responsible for the design and integration of routed cables for aircraft, GCS, GSE, and payloads used in unmanned air vehicle systems.
- Provides supervision and direction to design or technical staff.
- Designing of cables and wire harnesses that interconnect electronic equipment within the vehicle.
- Responsible for generating 3D models of routed cables, cable assembly drawings, cable lengths, routing details, and cable BOMs.
- Responsible for oversight of cable integrations to ensure cables are routed as designed.
- Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
- Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to project engineering staff.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience.
- Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
