Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Network Operations Monitoring Specialist to support continuous monitoring and incident response for a large, mission-critical enterprise environment. This role is responsible for real-time surveillance of network and server infrastructure, rapid assessment of system events, and accurate escalation to appropriate resolution teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and SolarWinds in a production operations environment and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 setting where accuracy and communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Provide continuous monitoring of enterprise network and server infrastructure using SCOM and SolarWinds

Analyze alerts, alarms, and system events to determine operational impact and urgency

Perform initial triage and escalate incidents to appropriate internal or enterprise-level support teams

Create, document, and route incident tickets using standard IT service management tools

Ensure accurate tracking of events, actions taken, and communications throughout the incident lifecycle

Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support timely issue resolution

Follow established monitoring procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvement

Maintain awareness of evolving monitoring technologies, tools, and best practices

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC), Operations Watch, or similar 24x7 environment

Hands-on, production-level experience with both System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and SolarWinds is required

Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and subnetting)

Working knowledge of server platforms and operating systems (Windows and Linux)

Experience with IT service management and ticketing platforms (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow, or similar)

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Prior experience supporting large-scale, secure, or regulated enterprise environments

Familiarity with incident management, escalation procedures, and operational reporting

Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24x7 operations environment
