Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated Principal Sustainability Reporting Analyst to join the Sustainability Team to support our voluntary and regulatory sustainability reporting processes This position will be responsible for leading our annual Sustainability Report process and other voluntary ESG Rater/Ranker responses, as well as supporting regulatory reporting preparations.

This position will be located in Falls Church, VA. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Planning, drafting, coordination and preparation of the annual voluntary sustainability report, with oversight by the Sustainability Reporting Manager
  • Managing, tracking and organizing the collection of relevant sustainability data and qualitative information from stakeholder partners around the business ,using the Workiva Sustainability solution for quantitative data.
  • Monitoring and coordinating responses, if applicable, to ESG rater and rankers and customer surveys, including CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics and Ecovadis. Integration of relevant reporting topics into sustainability reporting.
  • Coordination with relevant consultants used to support reporting processes.
  • Staying current on sustainability reporting frameworks, emerging regulations, and industry trends, and benchmarking against peers and other large companies. Preparing white papers, presentations or summaries/analyses as needed, tailoring communications to relevant audiences.
  • Building relationships with internal functional organizations to enhance collaboration and innovation in sustainability reporting initiatives.
  • Contribution to the overall sustainability regulatory reporting process, on an as needed basis, which may include supporting the preparation of regulatory reports, benchmarking and gap assessment activities, and general project management.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Will consider additional experience in lieu of education i.e. Associate's degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar with common sustainability reporting frameworks and surveys, including TCFD, GRI, SASB and CDP
  • Strong project management, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve, prioritize, plan, and execute in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree with environmental sciences, and/or sustainability focus and/or experience in ESG reporting/climate reporting
  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in some or all of the following:
    • ESG regulatory frameworks including CSRD and ISSB
    • Responses to key ESG surveys, inquiries and leading ranker/ ratings agencies e.g., CDP, S&P/DJSI, EcoVadis, MSCI and others
    • Climate assessments
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional roles
  • Demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, interpersonal skills, and engage in continuous learning
  • Exhibit willingness to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite), including the creation and delivery of professional presentations
  • Experience with Workiva, including Workiva's Sustainability Platform
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry


Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
