We are seeking an experienced Workday Procure-to-Pay Functional Lead to support a large-scale public-sector Workday Financials implementation. This consultant will play a lead role in designing, validating, and demonstrating P2P processes while serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across multiple agencies.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior Workday P2P consultant who enjoys client leadership, solution design, and advisory work and is comfortable operating in a highly visible role on a complex implementation. It is projected to last through December 2026, with anticipated extensions for additional consulting and hypercare support. The role is hybrid, but consultants must be willing to travel periodically to Atlanta, GA for client meetings, tenant builds, and go-live/post-live activities.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the functional lead for Workday Procure-to-Pay, providing subject-matter expertise across requisitions, purchasing, supplier management, invoicing, and payments
• Lead and participate in process confirmation sessions to validate future-state financial workflows
• Design, configure, and validate P2P solutions aligned with public-sector and grant-funded environments
• Conduct Workday P2P and Grants demonstrations, translating system capabilities into practical, agency-specific use cases
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, educating them in a highly consultative manner on Workday best practices
• Support data conversion and legacy system transition, helping clients understand how existing data and processes translate into Workday
• Partner closely with technical, reporting, and integration teams throughout the implementation lifecycle
• Provide ongoing guidance through testing, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization
Qualifications:
• Extensive hands-on experience leading Workday Procure-to-Pay implementations
• Strong understanding of Grants-related financial processes
o State or public-sector grants experience is a strong plus
o Higher-education grants experience is also highly relevant
• Proven ability to conduct effective Workday functional demos, especially within P2P and grants scenarios
• Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple agencies
• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal
• Experience guiding clients through legacy system transitions, including data extraction, mapping, and conversion
• Deep understanding of how organizations operate in legacy ERP environments such as PeopleSoft and how to translate those processes into Workday
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior leadership role on a Workday Financials implementation
• Experience in large, complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Background working with public-sector, higher-education, or grant-funded organizations
