Job Description
Perform routine and non-routine ballistic testing which confirms product meets customer specifications.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions) include but not limited to:
  • Perform a variety of physical and instrumental claibration and testing procedures safely, accurately and judiciously.
  • Calibration, setup and operation of pressure measurement systems (transducers, strain gages).
  • Record and maintain accurate analytical testing data using provided data sheets, excel spreadsheets and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Comply with all site and area safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are kept clean and functional.
  • Operate and calibrate various types of testing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Read, understand and validate processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, document and report upset conditions including instruments, equipment, methods, sample and production issues.
  • Know basic electronic troubleshiping
  • Participate in failure analysis and root cause analysis alongside team members from other areas of the site.
  • Coordinate work with supervisor, co-workers and customers and effectively schedule multiple types of testing.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education: 2 year degree in Instrumentation, Electronics or related field.
  • Be familiar with electronics (circuit analysis) and test equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound math and computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Routinely lift and move 25-50 pounds and climb stairs or ladders
  • Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety shoes, coveralls, gloves, safety glasses
  • Differentiate colors for evaluation of product test results.
  • Work as a team member in a team environment
  • Be willing to work extended hours and weekends when work load demands it.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
4 year degree in Instrumentation, Electronics or related field
  • Experience with ballistic testing
  • Familiar with mil-specs and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to drive fork-lift
  • Experience working in a production or quality control setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail


Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
