Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design
- Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements
- Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation
- Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presents technical information to wide range of audiences
- Manage supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
- Prioritize, delegate and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design
- Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts
- Train and coach others
- Work under minimal direction
Preferred Qualifications:
- (Level 4) 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
- 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
- Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct technical meetings and planning
- Experience performing hydraulic system analysis, preferably using MATLAB, FluidMaster, and/or Easy5 software
- 4+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATI Experience producing technical reports and presentations
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
- Knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads
- Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
- Experience working with cross functional teams
- Experience with Model Based Development tools
Education/Experience:
- 9-12+ years aerospace hydraulic systems experience
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
