Job Description:
Tria Federal is seeking an Advanced Unified Communications Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge communication solutions that enhance collaboration across our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in unified communications technologies, a strong understanding of network infrastructure, and a passion for optimizing communication systems.
This position is required to:
ABILITY TO OBTAIN A DOL PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE (Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder residing in the United States for more than 3.5 years
Work Location: 100% ON-SITE SUPPORT in Suitland, MD
Salary Range
$120,000 - $135,000 USD

Job Description:
Tria Federal is seeking an Advanced Unified Communications Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge communication solutions that enhance collaboration across our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in unified communications technologies, a strong understanding of network infrastructure, and a passion for optimizing communication systems.
This position is required to:
- Architect and integrate unified communications platforms
- Collaborate with IT leadership on long-term unified communications strategy
- Ensure system performance and security
- Evaluate existing communications environments and recommend improvements
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft) preferred
- 10+ years of overall professional experience
- Five (5) years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role with Microsoft Teams audio and video technologies (Poly HP Mini PCs, Poly Studio E70 Cameras, Poly GC8 Touch Controllers, Fiber Optic USB Cables)
- Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Teams Room Pro Management for room system administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Five (5) years of experience testing and implementing LAN technologies, computer-based applications, and NetGear audio and video switches
- Five (5) years of networking administration experience in a large organization or corporation, including IPTV technologies (AvediaServer Software, AvediaStream C1210, IPTV Decoders)
- Five (5) years of experience working with Windows Server operating systems, TCP/IP (IPv4 and/or IPv6), and Digital Signage technologies (AvediaServer)
- Five (5) years of experience working with DNS and audio/video systems (QSC, Stewart audio, Bose speakers, Epson Projectors, Shure microphone-supported A/V hardware)
- Five (5) years of experience evaluating and identifying A/V deficiencies, recommending performance improvements, and managing audio and microphone systems
- Ten (10) years of experience administering, operating, maintaining, and securing large-scale videoconferencing, web streaming, Voice-over-IP (VoIP), IPTV, digital signage, and audio/video environments
- CCNP Collaboration certification
- Strong designing skillset with VoIP, SIP, and related protocols including Poly HP Mini PCs, Poly Studio E70 Cameras, Poly GC8 Touch Controllers, and Fiber Optic USB Cables
- Experience with AMX control systems for audio/video and room environment automation
- Experience with Apple iPad for A/V room control, device provisioning, and user interface operation in enterprise conference spaces
- Experience with cloud-based communication solutions including configuring Crestron and Shure A/V equipment, vBrick Video Encoder, and vBrick 9000 Presenters
- Familiarity with general network infrastructure equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, QoS) with a focus on AvediaStream C1210 capabilities and NetGear AV switches
- Proficiency administering IPTV technologies (AvediaServer Software, IPTV Decoders) and Digital Signage technologies (AvediaServer)
- Experience with supported hardware such as Epson Projectors
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency drafting standard operating procedures, creating user manuals, and formulating implementation strategies and processes
- Ability to adapt to new audio and video technologies
- Architect and deploy unified communications solutions (e.g., VoIP, video conferencing, instant messaging) that meet organizational needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of communication systems with existing infrastructure
- Work with IT leadership to develop a long-term strategy for unified communications that aligns with business goals
- Stay updated on emerging unified communications technologies and recommend innovative solutions
- Manage audio and video performance and maintain systems security via patches, technical refreshes, and upgrades
- Evaluate current audio and video networks, identify deficiencies, and recommend performance improvements
- Assume technical leadership or supervisory responsibilities as required
- Monitor system resource allocation and utilization and perform capacity planning
- Maintain expertise and advise management on current technologies
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and project planning skills as a visionary and self-starter
- Recommend equipment, parts, maintenance, licensing, and software required in support of the System Improvement Plan
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve unified communications system issues to ensure high availability and performance
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, configurations, and processes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies related to communication technologies
