Description
SAIC is seeking an Economic Security Analyst to support our team of qualified, diverse, and highly motivated individuals supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). The qualified candidate will provide analytical support to the S&T Program Protection Office, responsible for supporting the protection of critical and emerging technologies by evaluating mergers, acquisitions, exports, and foreign investment. The position is located in Alexandria, VA.

SAIC is seeking an Economic Security Analyst to support our team of qualified, diverse, and highly motivated individuals supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). The qualified candidate will provide analytical support to the S&T Program Protection Office, responsible for supporting the protection of critical and emerging technologies by evaluating mergers, acquisitions, exports, and foreign investment. The position is located in Alexandria, VA.
Job duties include:
- Identify business relationships such as contracts, licensing agreements, and board memberships to analyze; raw material acquisition, technology transfer and delivery, supply chain dynamics including sole source entities, reliance on foreign sources of manufacturing or raw materials, and patents related to DoW technology modernization areas.
- Analyze traditional and non-traditional supply chains to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for exploitation.
- Business and social network analysis to illuminate networks of individuals, financial and non-financial business activities, technology trends, academic partnerships and research collaborations.
- Formulate risk mitigation strategies to address technology and technical stakeholder interests.
- Produce analytical and technical assessments for S&T PP and greater R&E programs, sometimes with short notice and unclear requirements.
- Refine and develop (as needed) SOPs, guides, and templates for conducting due diligence analysis across S&T PP programs.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- US citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience; Masters and seven (7) years of experience.
- 8 years of relevant technical, policy, or regulatory experience.
- Strong leadership, problem identification/resolution skills, flexibility, initiative, and a proven ability to work with Senior Executives efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of the DoW acquisition processes, policies, and guidance.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Analytic ability - must demonstrate ability to conduct technical analysis linking intelligence, acquisition, engineering/technical information. Analytic ability may be demonstrated with any combination of work products and education.
- Expertise in export control policies and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to provide timely and accurate information to senior government officials in support of policy and management decisions.
- Advanced knowledge in emerging technology, industrial policy, and interna tional affairs (preferably all three).
- Experience using large language models (LLMs) to assist in daily work.
