Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL to support our IBCS program.
This position is full-time on-site in Huntsville, AL, and will support the IBCS Program Quality and Mission Assurance Team within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector. The Quality and Mission Assurance organization is chartered to provide the skills and experience required to support a robust Quality Management System that ensures products and services meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements and promote mission success. You will define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities:
- Review and extract quality assurance requirements from documentation.
- Establish, implement, and maintain program mission assurance plans and practices used to ensure products and tools conform to company standards of excellence.
- Support tailoring and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures, including performing internal compliance audits and bringing non-conformances to resolution.
- Interpret mission assurance requirements and ensure those requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product documents.
- Ensure compliance with contract program, quality, organizational, and industry alert requirements
- Provide oversight into discrepancy review and failure investigations, as well as root cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and implement improvements to key metrics.
- Represent Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards that may include but are not limited to Material Review Board (MRB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), Failure Review Board (FRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Safety Review Board (SRB), Software Peer Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
- Contractor Data Requirements (CDRL) reviews, supplier audits, and inspections.
- Witness software testing, qualification, and Integration and Test.
- Provide Lab support and lab verification in preparation for software testing.
- Develop and deliver metrics and reports as needed.
- Collaborate with Program and Engineering management on program quality planning and the establishment of program quality objectives.
- Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to ensure quality standards are in place and met and to help resolve issues.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field with 2 Years of related experience; No experience required with a Master's degree.
- Able to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statement of work, requirements, software specs, test plans/procedures, and software test reports. The individual should be able to interpret requirements for testability and clarity, software escapes, develop audit plans, and identify critical software non-conformances.
- Application of technical expertise, including a complete understanding of software assurance fundamental engineering principles, practices, and theories.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Experience conducting internal audits (AS9100, In-Process, Factory Accountability).
- Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action process and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Understanding of risk management principles and contractual requirement review.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, Jira, Confluence).
- Dedicated to teamwork and able to work very well in a team environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Experience maintaining positive supplier relationships, including through successful resolution of supplier quality challenges.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
