- Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
- Exercise search and arrest authority, detain witnesses, apprehens suspects, interview witnesses and other persons involved.
- Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
- Operate motor vehicle which may involve high speed pursuit of suspects.
- Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
- Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.
- Use word processing and web-based law enforcement computer programs to establish, update, query or print detailed reports, forms, and citations concerning all incidents.
- Assure criminal or Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) measures are met to protect installation command and assure mission accomplishment.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy; or successfully graduate within 12 months of hire date; or is a current employee and is considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56.
- Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
- Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56: -Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation. Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT). Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
- The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Incumbent in this position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
- Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
- Incumbent must be able obtain and maintain a valid security investigation.
- Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
- Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time may be required.
- Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
