Duties
Help
  • Provides direct supervisory responsibility for a staff of government civilians and/or military personnel.
  • Exercises management of the financial, governance, and managerial accounting activities for the Portfolio and Resource Management Division.
  • Oversees cost estimating, cost planning, program budgeting, and financial-related management.
  • Performs resource management functions to increase efficiency and economy of mission and service function and operations.
  • Promotes understanding, acceptance and efficiency of financial management, analysis concepts, techniques and practices.
  • Provides guidance to the program's functional project managers in the interpretation of financial and acquisition management requirements as applicable.
  • Investigates and resolves crucial problems, matters of a policy nature and those affecting resource management functions.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFRPart 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position.
  • This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level.
  • Approximately 10% travel may be required. Travel may involve local, remote and/or overnight.

Basic Requirements for Supervisory Financial Management Analyst GS-0501-15:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing spending and/or costs to ensure effective economical results, reviewing budget estimates to support budgetary data, and advising on developments in the financial and/or acquisition fields to keep the organization updated. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
