At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Web Developer, a typical day will include the following duties:

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Customize: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom applications, web parts, and workflows using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related front-end technologies within SharePoint environments (SharePoint Online and potentially on-premise versions).
  • SharePoint Integration: Utilize the SharePoint framework (SPFx), REST APIs, PnP (Patterns and Practices) libraries, and potentially classic customization methods (e.g., JSLink, custom actions) to extend and enhance SharePoint functionality.
  • Front-End Expertise: Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js), ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with customer stakeholders and program management to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support for existing SharePoint solutions.
  • Best Practices: Adhere to established coding standards, participate in code reviews, and stay current with emerging web technologies and Microsoft 365 updates to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 15 years of professional experience in Web development.
  • SharePoint Proficiency: Proven experience customizing and developing solutions for SharePoint (SharePoint Online/M365 required; experience with SharePoint Server 2016/2019 is a bonus)

Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in core web technologies: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3/Sass.
  • Experience with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) for building modern web parts and extensions.
  • Familiarity with consuming SharePoint REST APIs and Microsoft Graph API.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with React.js (or another modern front-end library) as the default framework for SPFx projects.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate/Flow, Power Apps) for low-code solutions integration.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization.
  • Microsoft Certification (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate).


A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
