About the Role:

As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making within a Higher Education environment. You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

Location: HYBRID; MUST be located in DC, Virginia, or Maryland

Clearance Requirements:

• Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation.
• USA Citizenship (required for clearance eligibility)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science roles.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation and data visualization techniques.
• Experience with Python scripting for data analysis and automation.
• Strong knowledge of data cleaning and data cleansing techniques.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Proven ability to apply data science and analytics principles to business or academic challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Higher Education programs or institutions.
• Experience using R for statistical analysis and modeling.
• Advanced skills in creating pivot tables and complex Excel functions.
• Previous work experience in the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in data analysis.
• Certification in data analytics or business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to support institutional goals and performance metrics.
• Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom dashboards and reports in Tableau to visualize data and communicate trends.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements, KPIs, and data sources.
• Apply data science and statistical principles to identify trends, correlations, and predictive insights.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems and reporting tools.
• Integrate and analyze data from platforms such as Salesforce or Blackboard to enhance operational and student success reporting.
• Prepare written reports, data briefs, and visualizations for executive and operational audiences.
• Support data governance and documentation practices across the organization.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and Python scripts to automate data processing and analysis tasks.
• Create detailed reports and dashboards using Power BI and Tableau to visualize key metrics and trends.
