Job Description
This position is for an senior level experienced cyber engineer with rapid development CNO and CNE experience.
Rapid development is a dynamic software development approach designed for speed and adaptability. Its flexible approach allows for quick prototyping, continuous feedback, and near instantaneous deployment, ensuring solutions align with the evolving operational needs. This method becomes indispensable for high- stakes missions requiring rapid adjustments and operational efficiency.
Tactical teams performing incident response and computer network operations and exploitation (CNO/CNE) require development and engineering support focused on the rapid deployment of capabilities to address challenges in real-time. Teams are typically small, comprised of technically proficient government personnel and contract staff skilled in advanced digital forensics or cyber operations that adhere to applicable legal authorities and organizational policies. Support involves the setup, maintenance, and administration of systems or their components, while adhering to organizational security policies and procedures.
The nature of this work may require long and odd service hours as well as domestic and international travel.
As a senior level developer expectations include: Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum of 8 years' experience preferred. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
The following experience is needed:
Reverse engineering across multiple architectures (x86/x64, ARM/ARM64, MIPS, and others as required)
Static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries and scripts
Use of industry-standard tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, WinDbg, x64dbg, and related debuggers/disassemblers
Analysis of obfuscated, packed, or encrypted code and development of unpacking/decryption routines
Identification of malware functionality, persistence mechanisms, anti-analysis techniques, and command-and-control (C2) protocols
Extraction of Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), YARA rules, and behavioral signatures for detection engineering
Experience developing for multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, macOS, mobile (Android/iOS), and embedded/IoT systems
Scripting and automation to support analysis, using languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash (additional experience in C/C++, Go, or Rust preferred)
Familiarity with common malware families, frameworks, and threat actor TTPs
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Additional experience in C/C++, Go, or Rust preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
