Mid Data Analyst

Blu Omega is looking for a Mid Data Analyst to join a mission-driven team supporting the vital cybersecurity operations at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As a Mid Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing sophisticated analytical models that interpret large and complex datasets. Your insights will directly contribute to safeguarding NIH systems by enhancing cybersecurity detection, response, and vulnerability management capabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your analytical expertise within a dynamic federal environment committed to national health security.

Location: 100% Remote
Clearance Needed: NIH Public Trust

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine complex analytical models to identify cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations.
• Interpret data trends and patterns to enhance incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to translate data findings into strategic recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement of data analysis processes and tools to meet federal cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience designing and implementing analytical models in a cybersecurity or data analysis environment.
• Associates Degree
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
• Experience working with large datasets and managing data from multiple sources.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with federal cybersecurity standards such as FISMA, HHS, or DHS CISA guidelines.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and platforms such as SIEM, intrusion detection systems, or threat intelligence platforms.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or related cybersecurity or data analysis credentials.
• Prior experience in a federal or government cybersecurity operational environment.

Salary Range: $65K - $70K
Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
