The Fire Suppression System Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems at Al Udeid Air Base. This position requires a highly skilled and licensed professional with specialized experience in fire suppression systems who can work independently and provide technical expertise to ensure all systems meet NFPA standards, base requirements, and safety regulations.

The Fire Suppression System Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems at Al Udeid Air Base. This position requires a highly skilled and licensed professional with specialized experience in fire suppression systems who can work independently and provide technical expertise to ensure all systems meet NFPA standards, base requirements, and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems, including sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, valves, and specialty suppression systems
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, base-specific requirements, and company safety policies
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Perform system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, base personnel, and other trades as required
- Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and compliance records
- Support and assist other technicians and apprentices as needed
- Follow OSHA, base safety standards, and company safety procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Active Master or Journeyman Plumber License (required)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience specializing in fire suppression systems
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and fire suppression system components
- Ability to work independently in a mission-critical environment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
