Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer with a leading defense focused client. This role supports a mission critical environment and involves modernizing and maintaining cloud based infrastructure for a high visibility program.
Project Details / Mission Supported
• Support cloud engineering, automation, and distributed services for a major defense program
• Enhance system reliability, security, and performance across on prem and cloud environments
• Drive DevOps best practices, CI/CD automation, and Kubernetes based deployments
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills
• 5+ years of IT and/or software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience in production AWS environments
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and Agile teams
• Hands on experience with CI/CD tools (Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, etc.)
• Experience with virtualized environments and virtual networking technologies (NGINX, HAProxy, F5, AWS ALB/NLB, TLS/SSL)
• Strong experience with Git centric workflows and release management
• Proficiency with Linux automation scripting (shell/BASH)
• 3+ years of Kubernetes experience (cluster maintenance + application deployment)
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and operate in a mission critical environment
Preferred (nice to have): Experience with multiple cloud providers, Ansible, container technologies (Docker, containerd, etc.), air gapped deployments, IDaM technologies, monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus), PowerShell, GitLab CI/CD, Rancher, PKI, or API automation.
Location: Fort Bragg, NC
Onsite expectation: 100% onsite
Clearance Level: Top Secret (SCI eligibility)
Client will consider candidates with an active Secret clearance eligible for upgrade.
Salary/Pay Range: $65–80/hr on contract (DOE); up to $160k upon conversion
