• Location: Naval Special Warfare facilities (NAB Coronado, CA)
• Travel: May be required; reimbursed in accordance with applicable regulations
• Telework: May be permitted on a case-by-case basis at Government discretion

Job Description:
iQuasar is seeking a senior-level Software Developer Architect / System Engineering Advisor- level III to provide technical leadership and advisory support to Naval Special Warfare (NSW) mission partners. This role blends hands-on architecture and engineering expertise with strategic technical advisory responsibilities, supporting the design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of secure, mission-critical software and AI-enabled systems.
This position operates in a SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) capacity, advising Government leadership while remaining non-inherently governmental. The role supports NSW modernization initiatives, including enterprise data platforms, AI/ML enablement, and secure software delivery pipelines.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Software Architecture & Engineering Leadership
• Lead the architectural design and evolution of complex software systems, platforms, and services supporting enterprise and operational users.
• Define and assess system architectures, including application, data, integration, and cloud architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Provide expert guidance on technology selection, design tradeoffs, and implementation strategies aligned with mission objectives.
Systems Engineering & Integration-
• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration, validation, and sustainment.
• Support system-of-systems integration, ensuring interoperability across data sources, applications, and AI/ML components.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, interface definitions, and system artifacts.
AI/ML & Data Enablement-
• Advice on AI/ML solution design, including model development, ML operations (MLOps), deployment pipelines, and sustainment strategies.
• Evaluate data availability, quality, and pipelines to support advanced analytics and applied data science use cases.
• Support Responsible AI (RAI) implementation and compliance with DoD AI Ethical Principles.
DevSecOps & Modern Software Practices-
• Provide expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing frameworks, and secure software delivery practices.
• Integrate security-by-design and compliance-by-design principles throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support accreditation and authorization (A&A) activities through technical input and documentation.
Technical Advisory & SETA Support-
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Government leads, assisting in technical decision-making, roadmap development, and risk identification.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in technical reviews, working groups, and program planning activities in support of NSW objectives.
Required Qualifications-
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Senior-level experience consistent with Level III responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership in software architecture, systems engineering, or advanced technical advisory roles.
• Depth and relevance of experience are critical; no rigid year threshold applies.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance required at time of submission and maintained throughout performance.
Technical Expertise-

• CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation pipelines

Preferred / Desired Qualifications-
• Experience supporting DoD, USSOCOM, or NSW-aligned programs

• Expertise in enterprise data platforms or analytics ecosystems
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Proven ability to lead architecture discussions and influence technical direction across organizations
