KBR, Inc. is seeking a is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Weapons Employment and Tactics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in the employment, operations, tactics, and mission planning of air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that high-priority and joint-service weapon systems are effective, adhere to strategic and doctrinal requirements, and are delivered with speed and agility. This position will support the team through the full acquisition life cycle, i.e. development, test, production, fielding, and sustainment of weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide SME-level expertise in the employment, operations, mission planning, and testing of air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons during system acquisition.
  • Serve as a critical link between the warfighter and the acquisition process, ensuring that new and upgraded weapon systems are not only technologically advanced but also operationally effective and suitable for the complexities of modern combat
  • Serve as a liaison with warfighting commands regarding operational employment and requirements.
  • Translate the needs and realities of the operational environment to the engineers, program managers, and contractors developing the weapon system.
  • Ensure that weapon system concepts, CONOPS, architectures, and designs adhere to strategic, operational, and tactical employment tactics, doctrine, policy, and command structures.
  • Inject firsthand operational experience into every stage of a weapon system's lifecycle, from initial concept to fielding and sustainment
  • Deliver evolutionary and transformational strike weapon capabilities with speed and agility through digital acquisition and open architecture approaches.
  • Evaluate threat scenarios to derive system requirements
  • Develop and refine weapon CONOPS and tactics and support architectural development of long-range kill web concepts.
  • Determine warfighter training requirements for advanced, highly technical systems.
  • Support the engineering, development, evaluation, and validation of advanced technologies in areas such as lethality, survivability, targeting, guidance, navigation and control, and C3BM.
  • Provide engineering, analytical, and technical support for the integration of individual systems and system-of-systems (SoS) architectures.
  • Design and execute realistic test scenarios that will accurately assess the system's capabilities and limitations in a combat-representative environment.
  • Interpret data collected during testing, helping to identify potential issues and areas for improvement
  • Develop and sustain integrated roadmaps that align strategic objectives with capability development and investments.
  • Support strategic communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide input to analytic, modeling, and analysis of alternatives to inform investment decisions on advanced technologies.


Work Environment:

• Location: On-site (Eglin AFB, FL)

• Travel Requirements: Moderate, 20-40%

• Working Hours: Standard - Core hours 0900 - 1500

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Current Top Secret, SCI Eligible clearance
  • SAP eligibility (Counterintelligence Polygraph may be required)
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 25 years relevant experience, with minimum 15 years in the operational employment of air-to-air and/or air-to-ground weapons.
  • Minimum three years experience working on or coordinating with military command staffs
  • In-depth knowledge of military operations, tactics, and mission planning.
  • Experience working directly with the defense industrial base
  • Familiarity with digital acquisition, open architecture, and kill web concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, internal and customer facing
  • Availability for ad-hoc and recurring customer and team meetings during core business hours. Position likely to have limited telework.

Desired:
  • Masters Degree in related field (including military related degrees)
  • Former military pilot or weapon systems officer with experience conducting weapon employment in both operations and test
  • Experience on an air-to-air or air-to-ground weapon acquisition program
  • Experience bringing Agile, Digital Engineering, or advanced data integration management techniques to bear on Defense Acquisition
