DevSecOps Engineer MID

Marathon TS is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support a high-visibility Navy AI/ML initiative focused on predictive analytics and operational readiness. This role will support the development, deployment, and security of cloud-based applications by integrating security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
The DevSecOps Engineer will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure applications are scalable, secure, and compliant with DoD standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls
  
  
• Embed security automation throughout the software development lifecycle
  
  
• Support cloud infrastructure deployments (AWS and/or Azure)
  
  
• Implement containerization and orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes)
  
  
• Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance validation
  
  
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices
  
  
• Support infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives
  
  
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture
  
  
• Assist with documentation and compliance artifacts as required
  
  

Required Technical Skills:

• DevSecOps / DevOps experience in secure environments
  
  
• CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  
  
• Containerization: Docker
  
  
• Orchestration: Kubernetes
  
  
• Cloud platforms: AWS and/or Azure
  
  
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)
  
  
• Scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar)
  
  
• Security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, container scanning)
  
  
• Experience supporting compliance-driven environments (DoD preferred)
  
  

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  
  
• 5+ years experience in DevOps / DevSecOps or related engineering role
  
  
• Experience supporting DoD or federal programs preferred
  
  

Certifications (Preferred):

• AWS or Azure certification
  
  
• Security+ or equivalent security certification
  
  
• Kubernetes or DevOps-related certifications a plus
