Description
SAIC is seeking a Technical Manager to support the Navy's LCAC ACV program at NSWC PCD. This position is contingent upon award news in Summer 2026.
Work will be performed onsite 5 days a week and is located in Panama City Beach, FL.
The Technical Manager will directly supervise individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers).

The Technical Manager will directly supervise individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers).
- Manages the activities and staff in an assembly function, which may include but is not limited to a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
- Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units.
- Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
- May also set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
- Some machines may be numerically controlled.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or relevant military technical training program (e.g., Navy Electronics Technician, Marine Corps Communications Electronics Technician) is essential to provide a solid understanding of electronics theory, troubleshooting methodologies, and network fundamentals required for complex system maintenance and repair.
- 8 years of experience in electronics troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex electronic and IT systems, with at least 3 years specifically on naval C4N (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Networks) systems and LCAC platform systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other advanced electronic test equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic and network issues in a timely manner.
- Experience with US Navy Groom procedures and Technical Assists is desired.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
