Clearance: Active Secret
Employment Type: Full-time
Company Description
BIT is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s enterprise data environment by creating wireframes, user flows, and structural UX patterns that guide the development of integrated dashboards and mission‑critical data products. This role focuses on early‑stage UX—capturing requirements, mapping workflows, and rapidly iterating wireframes to ensure alignment across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
Responsibilities
• Lead creation of low‑ and mid‑fidelity wireframes for dashboards, workflows, and data‑rich applications.
• Develop user flows, journey maps, and information architecture aligned to operational command structures.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to capture requirements and translate them into actionable UX artifacts.
• Produce wireframe mockups that enable rapid iteration before development begins.
• Ensure consistency between the master integrated dashboard and drill‑down use‑case layers.
• Conduct user interviews and workflow analysis to validate design decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers to convert wireframes into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work with engineers to ensure wireframes are feasible and aligned with technical constraints.
• Contribute to a design system focused on layout, navigation, and reusable UX components.
• Present wireframes and UX recommendations to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
