As a Network Engineer on our team, you will work with U. S. Navy personnel to assist in migrating data to temporary networks built by you. Our team supports continuity of day-to-day operations while US Navy ships are undergoing extended periods of maintenance and upgrades.

This position with cover US Navy ships and activities in the New England region including, but not limited to, Submarine Base New London, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and Bath Iron Works. In addition, you may be assigned to travel to other locations to support MI Technical Solutions tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of network communications
  • Configures various network devices and services.
  • Troubleshoots the network issues within established guidelines.
  • May assist network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
  • Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.
  • Draft reports based on metrics gathered during system health checks.
  • Maintain, configure, and deploy network devices such as servers, switches, and routers in support of fleet maintenance periods.
  • Provide basic support for tagout systems and wireless connectivity operations.


Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, or engineering or its equivalent.
  • Requires1-2 years of related experience.
  • U.S. Citizen eligible for DoD security clearance.
  • Must have knowledge of the Internet, computer, routers, switches, firewall, etc.


  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers.
  • Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure.
  • Time management.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.
  • Up to 15% travel
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, loud environments, and industrial areas
