Amentum is seeking a Security Specialist/ Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for the Space Force Range contract.
Job Description:
The Security Specialist/AFSO is responsible for implementing and managing security programs in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Space Force, and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements. This includes strict adherence to DoD 5205.07 Special Access Program (SAP) Security Manual, ICD 705 Physical Security Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and related directives to ensure compliance across personnel, physical, and information security domains. The role supports launch and test operations while maintaining range readiness and mission reliability.
Typical Duties:
• Administer security programs in compliance with DoD 5205.07, ICD 705, Space Force directives, and NISPOM.
• Process and maintain personnel security clearances using DISS and e-QIP systems.
• Conduct security briefings, training, and awareness programs for all cleared personnel.
• Oversee classified material control, secure storage, and transmission procedures.
• Perform facility security inspections, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses.
• Investigate security incidents and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Space Force, government agencies, and contractors on security requirements.
• Support audits, inspections, and self-assessments to ensure compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
• Active Secret Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Security Specialist or AFSO.
• Completion of DoD security training courses; ISP certification preferred
Compensation Details:
$65,000 - $78,000
