The Airfield Driving Program Manager Lead is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Airfield Driving Program (ADP) at Al Udeid Air Base. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and effective operation of vehicles and equipment on the airfield in accordance with U.S. Air Force, DoD, host-nation, and installation-specific regulations. The manager serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for airfield driving operations and provides leadership, training oversight, and compliance management for all authorized airfield drivers.

This role ensures the safe, compliant, and effective operation of vehicles and equipment on the airfield in accordance with U.S. Air Force, DoD, host-nation, and installation-specific regulations. The manager serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for airfield driving operations and provides leadership, training oversight, and compliance management for all authorized airfield drivers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage the installation Airfield Driving Program in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), DoD directives, and local operating procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all airfield driving matters.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce airfield driving policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions (SOIs).
- Oversee airfield driving training, testing, certification, and licensing processes for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
- Coordinate closely with Airfield Management, Safety, Security Forces, Wing Safety, and host-nation partners to ensure safe airfield operations.
- Conduct periodic program reviews, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and identify risk mitigation measures.
- Investigate airfield driving incidents, violations, and mishaps; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of driver qualifications, training, suspensions, revocations, and reinstatements.
- Advise leadership on airfield driving trends, hazards, and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor assigned staff or instructors supporting the Airfield Driving Program.
- Ensure compliance with force protection, safety, and operational risk management (ORM) principles.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed airfield driver with no previous record or revocations.
- Strong knowledge of airfield layouts, markings, lighting, signage, and controlled movement areas.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply Air Force and DoD aviation regulations and guidance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
