Healthcare Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Position is contingent upon contract award

The Healthcare Grounds Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all exterior facility and grounds operations at healthcare facilities on Al Udeid Air Base. This includes landscaping, waste management, dumpster operations, and energy conservation initiatives. The supervisor ensures that outdoor areas are safe, clean, environmentally sustainable, and compliant with Air Force and healthcare facility standards. This role leads a team of grounds personnel, manages resources efficiently, and supports a professional and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise and coordinate grounds maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Oversee the upkeep of lawns, gardens, walkways, parking areas, and exterior spaces around healthcare facilities.
• Implement and maintain landscaping plans, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and seasonal maintenance.
• Manage trash and recycling operations, including dumpsters, waste collection, and disposal procedures, ensuring compliance with environmental and base regulations.
• Develop and enforce energy conservation initiatives, including outdoor lighting management, irrigation efficiency, and equipment operation practices.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, base standards, and healthcare facility requirements.
• Monitor and maintain grounds and waste management equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure grounds are well-maintained, waste is properly managed, and energy-saving measures are effective.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, supply usage, and energy conservation efforts.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, including waste-related hazards, storm damage, or other emergencies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or facility services
• Experience with trash, dumpster, and waste management operations.
• Knowledge of energy conservation practices, including lighting, irrigation, and equipment efficiency.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
• Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
• Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

TRAVEL: 100%, in deployed location.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
