SUMMARY:
The Activation Systems Engineer supports the integration and readiness of shipboard systems at Land Based Test and Training Sites (LBTTS) by applying foundational knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems within a broader technical environment. This role contributes to the setup, verification, and basic troubleshooting of site infrastructure, distributed system components, automated test tools, and computing platforms used to prepare warfighter systems for land‑based testing and training. Responsibilities include assisting senior engineers with system activation activities that enable Element Test, System Test, Certification, and Training events, while ensuring safe operations, clear communication, and effective coordination across teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Support the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of shipboard tactical and equivalent systems within test and training lab environments, applying foundational knowledge of electrical systems, basic plumbing repair, and routine facility coordination.
• Assist with equipment installation, checkout procedures, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities aligned with U.S. Navy Baseline Computer Programs, incorporating strong system‑level diagnostics, data logging, and process planning to ensure reliable operation.
• Perform compliance monitoring, lab analysis, and safety‑focused operational checks that contribute to accurate system performance assessments and adherence to established technical standards.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats to document findings, coordinate activities across teams, and support safe, efficient workflows.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
• At least 4 years of U.S. Navy experience preferred.
• The Activation Systems Engineer should have experience with Interface Connection Drawings (ICDs) and Cable Block Diagrams (CBDs).
• The Activation Systems Engineer should have basic knowledge of Computer Baseline Programs and associated lab equipment.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTO are required. May require occasional travel.
