Remote/Hybrid•Mesa, AZ (On/Off-Site)
We are a well-established U.S.-based defense company expanding into domestic battery manufacturing as part of a strategic onshoring initiative. This new capability is being developed in partnership with our sister company in Israel, which has an existing and proven battery manufacturing operation.
To support this expansion, we are seeking a senior, hands-on Business Development professional who can immediately open doors, generate revenue, and establish our presence in multiple U.S. markets. This is not a purely strategic role—this individual will be actively closing deals and bringing in new business.
Key Objectives
Launch and scale U.S.-based battery sales by leveraging existing industry relationships
Reduce export/import constraints by shifting production and sales domestically
Establish customer pipelines across defense and adjacent commercial markets
Position the company as a credible, long-term U.S. battery supplier
Responsibilities
Drive new business development for domestically manufactured batteries
Leverage an existing Rolodex to introduce the company to qualified buyers and partners
Actively pursue and close opportunities within:
Defense and aerospace programs
Unmanned systems and drones
Medical devices
Other regulated or high-reliability applications
Build relationships with prime contractors, OEMs, integrators, and end users
Collaborate with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to align customer requirements with production capabilities
Provide market feedback to help shape product roadmap and go-to-market strategy
Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows
Required Qualifications
Proven track record in business development or sales, preferably in:
Batteries, power systems, energy storage, or related hardware
Defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments
Existing, active network within defense, aviation, unmanned systems, medical devices, or adjacent industries
Demonstrated ability to close deals, not just generate leads
Strong understanding of complex sales cycles and technical products
Comfortable operating in a startup-like environment within a larger, established organization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience launching or scaling a new product line or manufacturing capability
Familiarity with export/import constraints, ITAR, or defense-related regulations
Experience selling into both defense and commercial markets
Background working with or alongside international manufacturing partners
Ideal Candidate Profile
Entrepreneurial mindset with a “hunter” mentality
Self-starter who can operate with limited structure
Credible industry presence who can get meetings quickly
Comfortable building something from the ground up while leveraging the stability of a long-standing defense company
Why This Role
Opportunity to build a new business line from the ground floor
Backed by an established defense company with decades of credibility
Strong long-term growth potential across defense and commercial sectors
Ability to shape the U.S. battery manufacturing and sales strategy from day one
