Our client is looking to hire Field Service Engineers/Technicians immediately for long term employment. We are looking for someone with a diverse technical understanding and the hands on skills that will allow them to recognize and solve application and operational issues in a real world, real time setting. Self-motivated, company oriented and a desire to see the world. Someone who can apply known technology to a variety of applications and eager to absorb more knowledge with every new experience.
An experienced Engineer/Technician will work independently in the field, or depending on the size of the project, as a critical component of a select team.
Must be:
• Detail oriented in communication and documentation
• Electrical/electronic or control systems experienced.
• Available to travel internationally for short duration trips throughout the year
The Field Service positions require travel. At present the Field Service Department is located in Richmond, Virginia and all Field Service representatives dispatch from the main office. The majority of travel is within the continental United States however our worldwide customer base is expanding. Service trips will typically run 2-10 days and add up to about 40% to 60% a month “on the road”. All normal travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company and the cost of meals are expensed and reimbursed weekly.

• Electronics and circuit board troubleshooting

• Motors and electric generator experience
• Variable frequency Drives (VFD)

• Reading and troubleshooting from electrical schematics
• RF shielding test and repair
Additional requirements
Drug test and background check required before hire
Valid drivers license
Ability to travel by commercial Airlines
Training
During the first two to six months, a new Field Service Technician will be assigned to a period of formal and informal training classes that will be conducted on our Standard Product Line. Our company is one of the few manufacturers that routinely produces custom designed equipment for our clients; the majority of our training comes from hands-on experience under the guidance of our Engineering staff or a more senior Field Service Engineer.
Tools & equipment
Calibrated meters and tools are provided along with a travel style, lockable toolbox. Service Representatives are responsible for supplying their own hand tools.

The Field Service Department responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and modifications to equipment contracted for service.
When not traveling-
Instruct and/or receive training on new and existing technology
Support the Test Department as required in testing new equipment.
Support Test and Engineering Department in R&D projects.
Support the Electronics Department as required in testing new and used circuit boards.
Support the production department as required.
Perform any building related tasks deemed necessary by management.
