- Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center, Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building and the Spacecraft, Test, Assembly and Resource (STAR) Center.
- It's a fast-paced Manufacturing, Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) environment.
- Monitors program performance and drives creation/ presentation of performance metrics to management through corrective action board
- Controls program nonconformances by conducting analyses to monitor effectiveness of corrective actions
- You will work with and lead an experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a
related discipline, or equivalent
experience/combined education
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Quality processes and procedures, including AS9100 and ISO-9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience in aerospace/space programs
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision
making abilities
• Experience with Excel, metrics, key
performance indicators, Tableau, and/or other
metrics and data visualization tools
• Experience developing performance metrics and identifying appropriate root cause and corrective actions
• Experience in developing & presenting end item build data to customer preferably in support
of DD250 contractual requirements
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings requirements, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical/electrical inspection methods
• Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Quality Program Management, Engineering, Subcontracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an
accredited college in technical discipline ((e.g.,
engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g.,
math, physics, chemistry, etc.)
- Experienced with Preliminary Review (PR) and
Material Review Board (MRB)
- Current QMRB certification is a plus
- Ability to work in an environment with evolving
requirements and dynamic schedules
- Experience with human spaceflight and NASA/DCMA customers
- Experience with spacecraft processing.
- Experience with SAP operating system,
VECAMS, EPDM, P2P & Automation Framework
- Experience with working in an Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and Production environment.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action
analysis
- CAM and/or Greenbelt/Blackbelt certified
- Experience with Acceptance Process
(Receiving inspection)
-Experience in Design/Test Readiness/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
- ASQE certified
