Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Cyber Security Project Engineer to join a high
performing technical team supporting mission-critical cyber operations for a U.S. Government
customer. This individual will lead the design, implementation, and support of secure
infrastructure and enterprise systems, with a focus on compliance, operational resiliency, and
cyber readiness across dynamic technology environments.
This role requires a blend of technical depth, program management expertise, and stakeholder
communication skills to successfully integrate secure IT systems, cloud services, and
cybersecurity defense mechanisms within a large enterprise architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage complex IT programs and system integration projects, ensuring
successful coordination across technical teams.
• Facilitate and participate in stakeholder meetings, track program schedules,
documentation items, and drive accountability to resolution.
• Prepare program plans, technical proposals, and reports, including budget spend
plans and executive-level presentations.
• Translate functional business needs into IT requirements and technical solutions.•
Evaluate cloud service strategies and select appropriate technologies for secure deployment
based on mission and technical needs.
• Design, develop, and maintain network and cloud-based environments using
current technologies.
• Build and configure modern workstations and servers, ensuring systems are patched
and secured.
• Provide cyber defense capabilities to protect critical assets from cyber
threats, exploitation, and attack.
• Design and implement secure network architectures, policies, and procedures
for systems seeking authorization to operate (ATO).
• Lead Agile Scrum Teams to deliver secure technical capabilities and products in an
iterative, customer-focused environment.
• Organize and edit technical documentation for varied audiences, including manuals,
training guides, and troubleshooting references.
• Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with technical teams and
senior leadership.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience with program management and integration of secure IT systems.
• Experience preparing budget plans, tracking deliverables, and leading multi-stakeholder
initiatives.
• Knowledge of secure cloud strategies and hands-on experience with commercial cloud
platforms.
• Proven ability to configure and maintain infrastructure in secure network environments. •
Demonstrated understanding of enterprise cybersecurity architecture, including policy,
monitoring, and authorization processes.
• Experience authoring ATO documentation and working with security governance stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile environments and leading technical Scrum teams.
• Proficiency creating technical documentation for engineering and user audiences.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering,
or a related field.
• Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills
• Experience assessing enterprise networks, analyzing performance, and recommending
practical solutions.
• Familiarity with coordinating deliverables across IT architecture, cloud, and infrastructure
teams.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex projects, assess risk, and develop
contingency strategies.
• Experience briefing senior stakeholders and presenting technical solutions to nontechnical
audiences.
• Deep understanding of multi-cloud services and scalable infrastructure design.
