SUMMARY
Perform a variety of complex operations in support of the aircraft. Maintain aircrafts and their associated engines and sub-systems to ensure scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is completed and aircraft airworthiness requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structural components such as cowlings and functional components.
• Rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units.
• Inspects engines and associated components for airworthiness.
• Repair or replace defective engine components.
• Sit, stoop, bend, crawl, crouch, and climb aircraft to repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structural components such as cowlings and functional components.
• Remove and install engines, props or rotor blades, transmissions, flight controls and other aircraft components.
• Read and interpret original equipment manufacturer and program maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its associated components.
• Determine the airworthiness of the aircraft and its associated components.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring and associated components.
• Perform progressive phase, periodic and other calendar or hourly inspections.
• Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication, aircraft fueling, etc.
• Interacts with Company Production Control, the Customer and manufacturer in matters that concern the airworthiness of the aircraft, operational readiness of the aircraft and issues related to the troubleshooting of the aircraft system.
• Knowledge of U.S. Army Maintenance Documentation System, i.e.,738-751 DoS Pam Gen 1, 328-23.
• Required to complete maintenance documentation in compliance with all applicable program procedures.
• Required to make entries electronically through the program MIS.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Required
• High School diploma or GED.
• Federal Aviation Administration issued Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings or acceptable Host Nation equivalency.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and various levels of leadership in both written and oral form.
• Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals and technical data in English.
• CMF 15 aviation MOS series or another military or commercial equivalent to DHC-8, B1900, C208, UH-1, and H-60 specific to the location.
• Minimum of 8 years prior experience maintaining specific assigned aircraft (H-60)
• 8 years direct experience in aircraft maintenance, civilian or military.
• Must have exercised the privilege of their Airframe and Powerplant License for a minimum of 6 months of the previous 24 months.
• Must have previous experience working phase or heavy maintenance on assigned aircraft.
• Experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data.
• Ability to sit, stoop, bend, crawl, crouch, and climb to repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft.
• Ability to obtain and maintain d U.S. Security Clearance or MRPT.
Preferred
• Strong Electrical and Avionics background.
