Avum is seeking a highly skilled Appian Developer responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing sophisticated solutions using Appian low-code/no-code platforms for enterprise systems such as the Electronic Contract Writing Module (ECWM). This role combines deep expertise in BPMN standards, workflow automation, and API integration with advanced knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI/ML platforms, and enterprise application architecture.
The Senior Appian Developer ensures solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Government compliance frameworks and OWASP guidelines. Applying Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), the individual translates complex business requirements into robust technical solutions while guiding code quality, system performance optimization, and knowledge transfer across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Appian low-code/no-code platforms following BPMN and workflow automation standards.
- Integrate APIs and microservices to support scalable, modular, and interoperable solutions.
- Apply Agile methodologies to deliver iterative, high-quality software solutions in alignment with project objectives.
- Optimize application performance, system design, and data integration using AWS services (EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3), Oracle databases, and AI/ML platforms.
- Conduct code reviews and provide recommendations for architectural improvements and best practices.
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure solutions meet Government compliance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business needs into technical designs and workflows.
- Enhance data integration and system interoperability through data fabric architectures, microservices, and APIs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to support knowledge transfer and facilitate stakeholder communication.
What You Will Need:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- An active Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience using Appian or BPMN-based low-code/no-code platforms to model business processes and develop automated enterprise solutions.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience integrating APIs and services to enable scalable, modular application design.
- Proven track record delivering applications using Scrum or Kanban methodologies with iterative refinement.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, AI/ML platforms, Oracle databases, Java, Linux, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and associated enterprise tools.
- Hands-on experience with: Appian, JBoss (EAP & Fuse), OpenShift, Kubernetes, Tomcat, RHEL Server, Oracle, Ansible, Apache Web Server (mod_jk), Kafka, Zookeeper, Keycloak, Elasticsearch, GitLab, Java (AMQ Broker).
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., Appian Certified Developer, AWS, Google, Microsoft) or professional organizations (e.g., IEEE, Scrum Alliance).
If You Have This, It's A Plus:
- Experience implementing DoD acquisition and contracting writing systems/solutions
- Knowledge or experience working with the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS-NG), System for Award Management (SAM) or other acquisition-related interface partners
- Strong understanding of government acquisition management processes and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS)
- Appian Government Acquisition Management (GAM) suite
- Appian Lead Developer or higher certification
