Overview
Nakupuna Services is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer / Structural Engineer to provide engineering analysis, technical support, and inspection-related engineering services in support of U.S. Navy and Department of Defense facilities and weight handling equipment programs. This position supports crane inspection, certification, maintenance evaluations, and structural assessments in accordance with NAVFAC standards, applicable engineering codes, and contract requirements.

This position supports crane inspection, certification, maintenance evaluations, and structural assessments in accordance with NAVFAC standards, applicable engineering codes, and contract requirements.
Responsibilities

- Provide mechanical and structural engineering analysis in support of crane inspections, certifications, and repairs
- Evaluate structural, mechanical, and load-bearing components of cranes and related equipment
- Review inspection findings and develop engineering recommendations for corrective actions
- Support load testing, condition inspections, and certification activities as required
- Review OEM documentation, drawings, and technical manuals
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering assessments, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with senior engineers, inspectors, and Government representatives
- Support audits, evaluations, and quality assurance activities
- Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable safety, security, and access requirements
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience supporting mechanical or structural systems.
- Experience supporting Navy, DoD, or industrial facilities preferred.
Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with NAVFAC P-307 or similar industrial standards preferred.

- Ability to climb ladders and access equipment as required.
- Ability to lift engineering tools or equipment as needed.
