Overview
Nakupuna Services is seeking an experienced Senior Crane Engineer / Lead Inspector to provide technical leadership, inspection oversight, and certification services for weight handling equipment (WHE) in support of U.S. Navy and Department of Defense customers. This position serves as the senior technical authority for crane inspection, testing, and certification activities, ensuring full compliance with NAVFAC P-307, Navy Crane Center requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The projected compensation for this position is $95,000.00 to $125,000.00 (annualized USD). Responsibilities

- Lead and perform complex crane condition, maintenance, and certification inspections
- Serve as the senior technical authority and Lead Inspector for crane inspection and testing activities
- Support and oversee no-load and load testing in accordance with NAVFAC P-307 and applicable appendices
- Establish, review, and maintain crane equipment history files, inspection reports, and certification documentation
- Interpret technical requirements, OEM guidance, and regulatory standards to determine crane serviceability
- Coordinate with Government certifying officials, CORs, and engineering personnel
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to inspectors and technicians
- Ensure compliance with site safety, security, and access requirements
- Support audits, evaluations, and quality assurance inspections
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with Government personnel and technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in crane inspection, testing, and certification standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in crane inspection, testing, or engineering support.
- Experience with Navy or DoD weight handling equipment programs preferred.
Certifications:
- Qualified crane inspector in accordance with NAVFAC P-307 requirements.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent preferred but not required.
Clearance: No clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
